Working Together and Sharing Made Easy with SkyDrive

With recent sharing improvements and seamless integration into Office Web Apps, Office for
PC and Office for Mac, SkyDrive can be a powerful way for students to work together on group projects.

To get the word out, Microsoft is launching SkyDrive.com/students – a resource for students get the most out of SkyDrive. The site includes a video explaining the benefits of SkyDrive with Office.

Take a look. If you like what you see, share it with your classmates on Campus. This will make their school work easier! They have also written a blog post with 7 power tips for working with SkyDrive across a group with Macs and PCs and created a detailed how to video.

Office Web Apps Adds New Features

Microsoft has just added enhancements to their Office Web Apps including support for OneNote inking, merge and autofit cells in Excel web app, printing directly from Excel web app, and right click menus in Excel cells. Read more about the enhancements on their blog.

Use your @dupage.edu account name and password to sign on to http://office.live.com/ and you'll be able to use web versions of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and OneNote.

Use Outlook 2007 to access your DUPAGE email

You can now use Outlook 2007 to access your DUPAGE.EDU email, calendar, and contacts. Full details on how to configure Outlook 2007 are available here. Please note that earlier versions of Outlook are not supported.

Help with Student Email, Blackboard, and MyAccess

The student support help desk provides support for students who need assistance with student email, Blackboard, MyAccess, and COD's wireless network.

Assistance is available:

In person from any lab aide in the Academic Computing Center (SRC 3600) or K Building Computer Lab (K123)

Via telephone at 630-942-2999

Via email at studenthelp@dupage.edu

The student support help desk is available during the following hours:

Monday - Thursday 7:30am to 10pm
Sunday 12noon to 6pm

*Exceptions to the above hours occur when the computing lab is not open.

Student Support Help Desk

The student support help desk, located within the Academic Computing Center, offers a variety of technology assistance to COD students.

Staffed by students and for students, the student support help desk provides assistance signing into and navigating within the MyCOD Student Portal (where you'll find your email account and tons of valuable announcements about what is going on at the College), MyAccess (where you will register for classes, look up payment information, and view your final grades), and Blackboard (where your instructor may be posting course related materials, assignments, and exams.) Additionally the student support helpdesk can help you access the College's wireless network.
